The Citadel Theatre is proud to share our productions and our passion for theatre with school audiences from Edmonton and the surrounding communities.


We offer special matinee performances for school groups for many of the productions in our season, and consider these to be an essential part of our programming.


We believe that all individuals should have the opportunity to experience, appreciate, and participate in live theatre. Sharing live theatre with new audiences, be they youths or adults, requires education and cooperation as it is a communal and participatory art form. The Citadel Theatre works to ensure that all patrons have a positive experience when visiting the theatre.


Important Notes: Please be sure to read your school calendar and ensure that your school is available before booking a fieldtrip. We require all bookings to have 10+ students to qualify for a school booking.

Before requesting a booking, please review our School Matinee Information Package. If you are interested in any of our productions that were not listed above, please contact our Group Sales Coordinator at groupbookings@citadeltheatre.com to join a waitlist or discuss other booking options.

In accordance with our new School Matinee policy (found in our School Matinee Information Package), all school bookings must be made from an accredited school or home school organization. To varify this, please provide the schools email.

What grades are attending?

*The Citadel only allows ages 5+ in their venues, and all productions have an age recommendation based on content. These can be reviewed in the School Matinee Information Package.

Please note that we require a minimum of 10 students per order to qualify for a school booking.

We are able to provide a complimentary supervisor ticket for every 25 paid student tickets. Additional supervisor tickets are paid tickets.

For information regarding the run time of productions, pelase see the School Matinee Information package. Schools will be booked first come, first served.

If a guest in a wheelchair is attending with your group, please let us know whether they want to stay in their chair for the duration of the show or want to transfer into a theatre seat.

By submitting this form I confirm that I have read through the Policies and Procedures (found in School Matinee Information Package) and agree to comply with the policies and procedures outlined. I agree to review the sections on Theatre Etiquette protocols with my students and supervisors prior to the performance. I understand that any adjustments to my order must be submitted in writing for review/approval, and that any requests for refunds may be denied after the confirmation has been sent.
