Thank you for your interest in The Old Globe Theatre Design Studio summer program.

This exciting program is for high school students curious about the art and design of technical theatre. Register for the week of your choice—or all of them!

Session One - Set Design: This week will focus on the art and craft of scenic design. Students will develop design composition and model making skills.

Session Two - Costume Design: Students will learn about costume design and fabrication. Join us to learn how to think like a costume designer, how to present your design, and about design collaboration.

Session Three - Props Design and Fabrication: Through hands-on projects, we will explore the art and craft of making stage props.

  • June 14–18, 2021 - Set Design
  • June 21–25, 2021 - Costume Design
  • June 28–July 2, 2021 - Props Design and Fabrication

Class Times | 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. PT daily with optional office hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Class Location | Virtual via the Zoom platform

Students will work on projects that can be completed between class sessions at home. Project materials will be provided and can be picked up before the program begins. Delivery of materials is also an option. More information will follow upon registration.
