Virginia Remembers the Vietnam War

The Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) is seeking individuals to interview for a new exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Opening in 2024, Virginia & the Vietnam War will explore this turbulent period through its many and various voices. Any Virginian who experienced the war can participate. The more breadth and depth represented in these stories, the more authentic the telling of this history will be. Recordings and transcripts will be added to the VMHC's oral history collection which is available to students, scholars, and the general public.

About the Process:
We will review your questionnaire and, if selected, contact you to schedule an interview. Depending on your location, we can conduct the interview in person, over the phone, or via the internet. We will not discuss any topic you do not feel comfortable talking about.

We will create a transcript of the interview which will be sent to you so you can correct any information. We will give the transcript and audio a final review before adding it into the VMHC collection. Participants will receive a complimentary copy of the interview and transcription.
